Lyon Airport to Alpe d’Huez

SATURDAYS : We operate every Saturday from the 20th December 2025 – 28th March 2026

On the 13th December we also have a bus to Bourg d’Oisans, the town on the valley floor and a short taxi ride from Alpe d’Huez.

Please Note The Following Exceptions:

– On the 20th December we only have buses from Lyon Airport (we do have buses to Bourg d’Oisans on 13th December)

– On the 28th March we only have buses to Lyon Airport

FLYING IN ON FRIDAY EVENING?

You could stay in a hotel at Lyon Airport and take our Saturday morning service. When you book, choose ‘Hotel’ for the Airline and Airport and then select the first flight arrival time.

FLYING ON ANY OTHER WEEKDAY?

We do not operate any transfers from Lyon Airport on weekdays. We do have some weekday services between Grenoble Airport and Alpe d’Huez. Use our Booking Form to see if we have a bus on your dates. You could take a taxi between Lyon and Grenoble Airport if the timings work for your flights.

FLYING ON SUNDAY?

We do not have any transfers on Sundays. However, we do have Sunday services between Grenoble Airport and Alpe d’Huez. Use our Booking Form to find our bus times. If they work for you, you could take a taxi between Lyon and Grenoble Airport.

A taxi between Grenoble and Lyon Airport takes about 45 minutes and costs about €110. Consult our Alternative Transport page to view other travel options.

From Lyon Airport, we have 1 bus departing around late-morning and 1 bus departing around mid-afternoon (from the 27th December onwards).

From Alpe d’Huez, we only have 1 early morning service heading to Lyon Airport. However, on most dates in January, February and March, we also have a later morning bus from Bourg d’Oisans, which is a short taxi ride away.

ADVICE IF OUR BUS TIMES ARE NOT SUITABLE :

If your flight time is not listed, then we are sorry but we do not have a bus to suit you. It may be cheaper for you to change your flight so it arrives into Lyon before the last flight arrival time we list. You could also consider a taxi between Lyon and Grenoble Airport (around 45 minutes, costing around €110) and then book our bus from there.

Remember, you could book a Single with us for one leg of your journey and travel the other way with another company.

You can select your stop when you first make your booking with us. If you have already made the booking, you can log into your account and select your stop. Please note that we are unable to offer any advice on which stop is best for you, as you will need to decide this yourself.

Below is a map of showing our bus stops in Alpe d’Huez and underneath the map, a description of each stop. The Free Shuttle Buses operated by Alpe d’Huez stop at all of our bus stops. We may need to cancel the stops Place Jean Moulin and Gare Routiere when the weather is bad or when the roads are going to be very busy. This is to ensure we don’t get stuck in resort behind other vehicles. We will contact you the day before if we need to do this, asking you to get on our bus at Palais des Sports.

Gare Routiere: In the old part of town, just below the bakery and opposite the Bar Le QG. The road is very wide here with space for a bus to park up. See it in google maps.

For Accommodations: All Chalets in “Old Town Alpe d’Huez”, Le Mariandre, Montagne du Pregentil

Palais des Sports: At the bus stop outside the main Sports Hall. Three out of the four free resort shuttles pass by here. See this stop in google maps

For Accommodations: P&V Ours Blanc, Hotel Printemps de Juliette, Hotel Gentianes & everything in the L’Eclose area.

Place Jean Moulin: At the bus stop on the roundabout in front of the Sphere Bar. Sometimes we may have to use the bus stop opposite the Residence “Cristal de l’Alpe”. View it in google maps

For Accommodations: Hotel Christiana, Grand Rousse, L’Hermitage, Cristal de l’Alpe. Walk down the Route du Signal for Hotel Le Castillan, Les Cimes and Petit Prince

Bergers: Please wait directly outside the large Residence “Pierre & Vacances Les Bergers”. See it in google maps

For Accommodations: Pic Blanc, P&V Les Bergers, MMV Les Bergers, Maeva Les Melezes, Franceloc L’Ecrin d’Huez, Residence Christiana (not Hotel Christiana!), and use “Citron” free shuttle bus for the Altiport Chalets & Club Med. The road up to the Altiport is uphill and can be steep in places.

We understand that flights can be delayed and we try to be as flexible as we can be with this. Our bus will wait for you if it can. However, we do have other customers who might have already been waiting a while so we have to consider them as well. We also need to adhere to EU regulations concerning driver hours, so our bus may have to depart on time.

If you do miss your transfer with us, if we have a later service to Bourg d’Oisans and there is space on it, you can travel on that for free. If not, you could either take public transport or ask our team if you could get a taxi to Grenoble Airport and use one of our frequent services from there. A taxi to Grenoble Airport costs around €110.

Please note that we are only a bus company and we can’t be held liable if you miss your bus and we can’t find a solution for you. You would need to arrange your own transport at your own cost.

• We have bilingual managers to greet you at the the Airport and reps in resort to help you with your transfer.
• We typically use larger vehicles which are more environmentally friendly and we are carbon neutral.
• We use experienced drivers who know the mountainous terrain.
• We are a well established company who have been operating in the Alps for many years.

Please note that our transfers to and from Lyon Airport will probably make a stop at Bourg d’Oisans, where you may need to change over to another feeder vehicle. Our reps and / or drivers will help you with this and we will try and keep this inconvenience to a minimum.
